In 1999 a group of Australian landholders began designing a land management system to improve environmental outcomes and give recognition to landholders and their support agencies. We used a simple principle to guide us as we were developing our system. We wanted:
"...a system that would be attractive to landholders, that would take account of their capabilities and aspirations, that would enable creativity and sustained commitment, and would meet the legitimate community requirement to have measurable improvement in environmental performance."
The system we developed, the Australian Land Management Certification System, is maintained and promoted by landholders operating through the not-for-profit company the ALM Group.
With the Australian Land Management Certification System you can certify all your land management activities with the one system.
Our system is designed for land managers, natural resource management organisations and industries. It is Australia's only whole-of-farm, catchment-linked national certification system for land management. It improves environmental outcomes in ways that enable your achievements and those of your support agencies to be recognised and rewarded.
